Imagine yourself standing there:

You just climbed that mountain and from 300m up you can overview the entire area. It's warm and sticky, but the wind is very strong so that cools you a bit. The clouds are passing my like mad and the wind is making noises trough the branches nearby and almost make you feel uncomfortable. But what a view!

C&C are most welcome! Perhaps anyone has some great ideas on doing something different with the colors in this one?

Beautiful place you found!
I'd play a little with saturation and levels.

It looks slightly pale currently.

Nice image - the saturation level is very 'real' in that most images tend to have their saturation bumped to add dynamics... I'm not sure that would work here, I don't feel the balance of the colours is going to really pop. As the image is more about texture and shapes I'd suggest trying B/w - maybe with a slight colour cast - to try and capture the feeling of heat and aridness that you describe.
The composition works well, i like the receeding layers of background and the strong emphasis on the tree.

I like it just the way it is. I prefer photos that depict the actuality, not always edited to make them "look better". I also like the softness of it. I believe the fact that it doesn't "pop" here actually improves the picture.

I like the soft colors, in some way they give this photography something special and more realistic.

great composition but I think it could use more color or no color at all...I would try B&W or a duotone...
